About SChola Inventionis

Who We Are

Schola Inventionis is a community of homeschoolers seeking a thoughtful, engaging, and rigorous-but-restful education for our children, in order to prepare them to be thinkers, be-ers, and doers in the world, for the good of themselves and others, and for the glory of God.

Philosophy

Schola Inventionis is founded on the principles of classical education, the liberal arts tradition, and project-based learning.

We believe education is about more than skill aquisition and college-and-career readiness. Though those have their place, they must not be the ultimate ends of education.

The goal and purpose of education must be a loftier one, toward the cultivating of the mind and the shaping of the soul. It must endeavor to engage in the true liberal arts tradition whose end is liberty: that is to say, freedom. Freedom to be fully alive and fully human. Freedom to live a full and well-ordered life of intellectual, physical, and spiritual growth.

Succinctly stated, the purpose of education is this: to cultivate wisdom and virtue by nurturing the souls of students in truth, goodness, and beauty, that they may better know, glorify, and enjoy God.

This ideal is at the heart of classical education, and it steers all we do at Schola Inventionis.
